Thomas Ebert

Tom is a son of Wayne Ebert and a brother to Tim Ebert.  He has been a member of the St. Germain Fire and Rescue Department since 1980.

Timothy Ebert

Tim is a son of Wayne Ebert and brother to Tom Ebert.  He works for the Town of St. Germain and is the town zoning officer. He has been a member of the St. Germain Fire and Rescue Department since 1979 and became Fire Chief in 2004 following Kent Knitt's resignation.

Carl Eliason

Residency: Born in Sayner, WI

Carl Eliason

Carl was a son of John and Jenny Eliason. He is the father of John II Eliason, who was named after Carl's father.  He attended the Content School in St. Germain as a child.  Fred Baackus helped Carl and one of Carl's sisters financially to attend UW-Madison.  Carl started a general store with Elmer Ahlborn in Sayner.  This store eventually burned down, but was located where the Sayner Pub is today.  Carl then founded the Eliason Lumber Company in Sayner, WI and Fred Baccus helped him financially to get started.  He invented the snowmobile in 1924.  This snowmobile is on display at the Vilas Historical Museum in Sayner, WI.

Donald Eliason

Residency: Born here

Donald is a son of Oscar and Lucille Eliason.  He was the founder of Eliason Realty with his twin brother, Richard.  He currently operates his own financial investment firm in St. Germain.

Jenny Eliason

Residency: 1898

Jennie was married to
John Eliason and they settled here from Sweden.  She took part in the management and operations of Murmuring Waters Resort, which John founded. on Lost Lake.

Jerry Eliason

Residency: Born here

Jerry was a son of
Oscar and Lucille Eliason.  He founded the popular Eliason's Someplace Else supper club and operated it for over thirty years.  The supper club was sold in November 2004. Jerry was one of the original founders of the "Stump Dump Queen" contest. He also did much to help raise funds for the Fire/Rescue Department. Every year for three decades, he held a fish fry in April with the proceeds going to the fire department.

John Eliason

Residency: 1898

John was the first Eliason in the area, arriving here from Sweden in 1898.  He built Murmuring Waters Resort on Lost Lake several years after arriving and operated it for many years.  Carl Eliason , his son, suggested the name of Murmuring Waters from the poem, Hiawatha. He was also the father of Oscar Eliason and a member of the town board.

John is a son of Carl Eliason and a grandson of John Eliason.  He took over the management and operations of Eliason Lumber Yard when Carl retired.

John is a son of
John Eliason II, grandson of Carl Eliason, and great-grandson of John Eliason.  He is involved with the operations and management of Eliason Lumber Company in Sayner.

Lucille Eliason

Lucille was married to Oscar Eliason and she was from Merrill, WI.  She was a sister to Lila Kurtz who married Elwood DeNoyer.  Lucille taught in the both Lakeland and Lac du Flambeau School Districts.

Oscar Eliason

Residency: Born here

Oscar was the son of John Eliason and the father of Jerry, Richard, and Donald. He attended Juve School as a child and was a student of John Vandervort.  Oscar passed the eighth grade with no problem, but was so nervous about having to go to high school in Eagle River, that Vandervort let him stay in Juve School another year.  He eventually operated a jukebox/pinball machine company in the area and took over operations of Murmuring Waters Resort when his father, John, passed away. He and Ed Gabe founded the Highway 155 Club which evolved into the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce.

Richard Eliason

Dick is the son of Oscar Eliason, a brother to Jerry, and paternal twin of Donald.  He was a founder of Eliason Realty with Donald.  He currently operates his own real estate development firm in St. Germain.

Elaine Enlow

Residency: Born here

Elaine was a daughter of Charles and Eva Rekau and a niece of Walter E. Olson. She was a very kind lady and operated an animal care center at her home, which was on the corner of Jct. Hwy 70 and Old 70, diagonally from what is now Bob Katz Bar (Waukegan).

Eldon Esch

Residency: Unknown

Eldon owned/operated Esch's Serenity Bay on South Bay of Little St. Germain for many years.  He turned it into one of the most popular and top resorts of the area.  He sold it and retired in the late 1990's.

John Euriga

Residency: Mid-1950's

John was a son of Mary Euriga and operated a bait shop on the same site as his mother's grocery store on Highway 70. They also had cabins on the other side of the highway by the Big St. Germain River. He passed away in the Veteran's Hospital in Milwaukee from kidney problems.

Mary Euriga

Residency: Mid-1950's

Mary and her husband (first name unknown) came from Gary, Indiana after he retired from the steel mills.  They ran Euriga's, a small grocery store and bait shop in combination with their home.  This was on Hwy 70 on the corner where you would turn on Normandy Court Road. They also had several rental cabins across the highway along the bank of the Big St. Germain River.  Mary's husband passed away, but she continued to operate the store and cabins with the help of her son, John.
